Ever since the kids left home, my wife Cathrine and I have been living in Västergarn, where we built a house in 2014.

I grew up in Norrköping and the Gryt archipelago, and of all sports, sailing became my greatest interest. I came to Gotland during my military service and enjoyed both the island and the military, so I graduated from the Karlberg Military Academy in 1980. After a long career in various military positions on the island and at Headquarters, I became commander of the Gotland Regiment, P 18.

During my time in uniform, I also had the privilege of serving, on and off, for 10 years as an aide-de-camp to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family.

Before retiring, I also served as director of education for Region Gotland and spent the last 10 years of my professional career as a county councilor at the Gotland County Administrative Board

I took up golf late in life, starting at Slite Golf Club 20 years ago. I’ve been a member of Visby Golf Club since 2006 and enjoy both playing and experiencing everything golf has to offer in this fantastic setting.

My wife Cecilia and I live in Södermalm, Stockholm. On average, we spend half our time on Gotland; since 2013, we’ve been staying at our house in Kovik, near Västergarn and Visby GK. We’ve previously lived in other places on the island and also had an apartment within the city walls. One of our four children lives and works on Gotland. The other three live in the Stockholm area.

My connection to Gotland and my love for the island began during my time at what was then KA3, through training and subsequent exercises. It therefore felt natural and obvious that we would spend our summers here when our children were young. Now our children and their families come here during our grandchildren’s school breaks.

I am a lawyer and, until my retirement in 2013, I worked as a tax advisor for large companies. I still hold several positions of trust in various organizations and associations. On the board, I often take minutes and handle legal matters.

I started playing golf in my 40s, and my wife joined me. We quickly became members of Visby GK (before the major renovation). Since then, we’ve been playing golf as often as we can on the island and sometimes while traveling abroad. We enjoy the game, the natural surroundings, and the sense of community at Visby GK.

A native of Gotland who commutes between his apartment in Visby and his vacation home in Sanda. Part of a “sports family” where Palle and his two adult sons enjoy spending time together playing golf, padel, soccer, or throwing varpa.

Kronholmen and Visby Golf Club came into my life in the early ’90s, and that relationship has truly grown stronger with each passing year. The location, the game, the hospitality, the restaurant, …the cross-country ski trail—well, you know…

Orienteering and cross-country skiing have been “my” sports, both as an athlete and a coach, and I still ski today. This coming winter, I’ll be training for half the Vasaloppet—the Nattvasan—together with my oldest son.

I have a degree in graphic design and communication. I worked for many years at an advertising agency, and five years ago I started my own company, Öliv Design. In between, I served as communications manager at Länsförsäkringar Gotland for ten years. Sponsorship was part of my responsibilities, and I’ve also had the privilege of volunteering in this capacity for FC Gute for many years.

I was born on Gotland and grew up in Västergarn. After completing my studies in economics in Linköping, I moved to Stockholm, where I have lived since 1990. I’ve held many different roles in the business world as a finance manager and CFO (Chief Financial Officer) across various industries—ranging from IT to media, including, for example, 15 years with the Bonnier Group and many years at Svenska Spel. Today, I’m primarily involved in board work and find it incredibly rewarding to serve on the board of the Visby Golf Club.

For many years, my family and I have had a summer cottage in Tofta. I’ve spent every single summer here at the Visby Golf Club. My interest in golf and my love for Kronholmen have been with me my whole life, thanks to my parents, who were active in the club from an early age. Golf is truly an activity that transcends generations, and now I hope that my grandchild will eventually take it up.

I grew up in Gothenburg with three brothers. My parents played on the national team in the ’50s and ’60s, so golf is part of my DNA.

Moved to Saltsjöbaden in 1979. Has also been involved with Saltsjöbaden Golf Club in various roles and developed a master plan for the course in preparation for the club’s 100th anniversary (2029).

He played for the national team from 1981 to 1984, turned professional from 1985 to 1986, and qualified for The Open at Muirfield in 1992.

He is a member of Visby GK (2018), Saltsjöbadens GK (1980), and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (2006). He plays about 100 rounds a year, preferably at Kronholmen and in St. Andrews.

My wife Marie (who doesn't play golf) and I live in Saltsjöbaden with our two sons (both of whom are members of Visby GK), but we try to spend as much time as we can at our house in northern Fröjel, which we bought in 2018.

He also has two older sons who are avid golfers.

My former in-laws had a house in Eskelhem, and because of that, I've seen the amazing transformation the club and the courses have undergone from the 1990s until today.

I love Visby GK.

My golf journey began at our wonderful Visby GK when I was just five years old, and the club—and Kronholmen—have held a special place in my heart ever since. I live in Stockholm, where I grew up in a sports-loving family in which everyone shares a strong passion for golf. Over the years, I’ve competed both in Sweden and the U.S., which has given me the opportunity to experience many fantastic golf courses and golf facilities around the world.

After college in the U.S., I earned a master’s degree in international relations and global political economy. At the same time, I continued my journey in golf as a coach at Viksjö GK, while also furthering my education through the PGA’s Assistant Coach Training (TAU) program. I’ve also had the privilege of working with the Swedish Golf Federation at various training camps—an experience that has been both enriching and inspiring.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering new places, and being out in nature. Now I’m really looking forward to continuing my journey in golf and helping to make Visby GK even better.

I was born and raised on Gotland and have had a strong connection to the Visby Golf Club since I was a child. My membership dates back to 1988, and from 1996 to 2003, the club was practically my second home. Back then, I spent a lot of time on the course and in the practice areas—but also working in the pro shop, at the front desk, and on the course.

I lived in Stockholm for ten years and worked in television production at the time, mostly in the entertainment industry.

I have been living on Gotland with my family for the past 15 years, and since 2014 I have been running Comfort Visby—a family-owned plumbing and energy company.

Now I've rediscovered golf and am once again enjoying the fantastic course, club, and activities at Visby Golf Club.
