Welcome to Visby Golf Club and 27 holes right by the shore of the Baltic sea.
Visby Golf Club consists of a championship 18-hole course and a full length nine-hole course. Designated as one of Europe´s best golf destinations, Visby Golf Club, in recent years, has strained to accommodate the many golfers who want to play the course each summer. The management of Visby Golf Club, after consideration of the historic and observable consequences to any change to the golf course, called on Pierre Fulke to help them.
Pierre Fulke, the celebrated Swedish golf course designer and Ryder Cup player, was given the difficult challenge of making a great golf course better. Pierre's challenge was to maintain the competitive and scenic integrity of Visby Golf Club, while regaining customary playing times. The Fulke master plan mixes and redirects the existing holes and introduces new holes to create a 27-hole championship course. The new design retains the historic elements and competitiveness of the course while increasing the panoramic seaside views that make Visby Golf Club so cherished.
In 2010 and 2011 Visby Golf Club will host the tournament PayEx Invitational on Nordea Tour which is the name for the Scandinavian pro tour.
Visby Golf Club is located on the historic island of Gotland. Visby Golf Club is considered to be one of Sweden's most challenging courses and is certainly one of its most scenic. Taking full advantage of its seaside location, the course at Visby will have you walking over the land that Vikings walked centuries ago. As you play, you can see the relics of these fabled residents of Sweden's past.
Located just south of the walls of the medieval city of Visby, the club enjoys one of the longest golf seasons in Sweden. Visitors can enjoy golf from early spring to late fall.
